Mediation and conciliation
Mediation and conciliation are voluntary. They begin only when all parties request them willingly. Pasham Vidhya acts as an impartial mediator and facilitator, and does not decide the dispute for the parties. All final decisions are made by the parties themselves, freely and with full understanding. The process is kept confidential, within the limits of the law. Any settlement terms the parties agree to and sign are binding on them, as per applicable law. Sessions are held at the counselling centre, and family members may be present when the parties agree. The mediator's fee is agreed in writing before the process begins, and may be shared between the parties. Mediation does not replace independent legal advice, and does not by itself stop or settle any court case.
